Program

It is impossible to represent Weinzweig’s vast compositional output – not to mention that of his peers, or his influence on countless other Canadian composers who have followed in his footsteps –in one concert. In selecting the repertoire for this Concert, Artistic Director Lawrence Cherney has taken into consideration the various influences that coloured Weinzweig’s work: from his infamous wit and sense of humour, to musical influences ranging from early 20th-century European modernism to jazz and blues.
